If you’ve been watching Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon, you’ve heard the name Ryan Condal. Condal’s direction of the show greatly expands on just a few pages of the book to make the second episode of HOTD. The adaptation greatly develops the characters of Prince Daemon and Criston Cole. For this episode, Jim and A.Ron are covering pages 360 – 363 of the hardcover version of Fire and Blood.
How do you feel when you wake from a dream? Excited? Confused? Angry? It probably depends on the dream and your interpretation of it. As you might expect, this particular dream of a finale is likely to be divisive.
The Raid 2, directed by Gareth Evans, is a stomach-churning follow up to The Raid: Redemption (2011). Jim and A.Ron chat about their relationship with this franchise and their impressions on this sequel. It features Indonesian martial arts, a great cast, and every single action trope. Viewers are warned that the violence in this film is brutal.

This is not a drill. A.Ron convinced Jim to read a fantasy novel. GASP! The guys are getting back into the spirit of House of the Dragon by reading Fire and Blood by George R.R. Martin. Listen and read along as the book is held up to the show. There will be no spoilers for anything that hasn’t happened in season one of House of the Dragon.
It’s a slick episode of Shogun. Mariko, played by Anna Sawai, has been a stand out character since the pilot. In this episode she unleashes her full power and charges full steam ahead into battle. Yabushige is just as psychotic and humorous as before. Would he make a last minute “conversion” to save his own skin? It might be the laugh Jim and A.Ron need after this episode.
Director Guy Ritchie brings his style to the classic myth in King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017). With the great cast and fun design, why did it get 30% on Rotten Tomatoes? Jim and A.Ron are here to hash that out. It has bigger elephants than Lord of the Rings, but the story is all over the place. Is this movie made of the stuff of legend?
Following their coverage of Kill Bill: Volume 1, Jim and A.Ron are back to cover Kill Bill: Volume 2 to complete the set. It’s an ultra-violent, ultra-visceral, ultra-Tarantino movie. Between the feet, blood, and swords, Jim and A.Ron try to dissect the enigma of this movie. Even seasoned action lovers should bring a barf bag.
